Also, I wanted to be truly Artisan, from scratch, at home and constantly developing, listening and further developing. Our ADD2 range is about ease of use and amazing tastes. The 3 Brewers of St Albans
The brewery was formed by myself (Mark) and my great friend Pete in mid 2012. United by our passion for real ales, and looking for a new challenge in life, we decided to open our own brewery in our home town of St Albans. We started the brewery with just one rule – to brew consistently fantastic beers.
We found the perfect premises, an old potato store, on a farm on the outskirts of St. Albans. Our water comes fresh from our own borehole, ensuring our beers are unique and truly local. We spent most of 2012 converting The Potato Shed into a gleaming brewery. Then we test brewed, and test brewed – for four months – all the time improving the equipment and improving the beers. Nothing but the highest quality would do – we wanted local people to be proud of their new local brewery!. We launched our first beer – Classic English Ale – in May 2013. We have deliberately kept the range small, so we can ensure our standards never drop and every pint is in perfect condition.
All of our beers are available to trade customers in cask and direct to consumers in cask and polypins. Additionally three of our beers, Classic English Ale, Golden English Ale and IPA are available in 500ml bottles.
Wherever possible we source local ingredients, and almost of all of our malts and hops are grown in England. Our spent grains feed the cattle on a local farm, and the spent hops are added to the compost on our own farm.

Underwhelmed by the teas on the market, Mother and daughter duo, Nicky Kavanaugh and Claire Ayres decided to do something innovative. and founded Twist Teas in the shared belief that there’s nothing like a cup of tea to lift the spirits and make you smile.
With the help of their world-renowned tea sommelier they created a range of the finest whole leaf teas and herbs that are full of little surprises.
Claire Ayres persuaded her old school friend Fraser Tant, former Head of Marketing at IGD, to join them and together they created a brand that mirrors their blends.
‘Blends with Benefits’ have been changing the way people think about tea! The secret to creating blends that really deliver on taste and make you feel great. Twist Teas has been delighting taste buds and making people smile for almost a year. Their proudest moment to date wasn’t what you might expect; Meghan Markel enjoyed their blends during her recent stay at Soho Farmhouse.

Launched in 2009, Capsicana was founded by self-taught chef, Ben Jackson through his love of chillies – and Latin American food. The Capsicana story began with five kilograms of dry chilli flakes, packed into smaller zip-lock bags, which Ben sold from a market stall. Further pursuing his food journey, Ben spent his savings on importing chillies directly from Mexico. Ben comments; “The inspiration for Capsicana began back in the late 90’s when I was travelling around the Americas with my Dad – and eating in Mexican cantinas.
